New Toy!

A generous friend gifted me a digital drawing tablet, and I could not be happier; exploring this new medium means new and easier ways to conceptualize design ideas!

Even if it wasn't professionally useful, I'd still be enthralled-- I'm loving the renewed creativity.

My most recent work is a super heroine concept based in the fictional world of the popular Shonen anime series, Boku no Hero Academia, by manga author Kohei Horikoshi.

It's a real joy to take comprehensive worlds built by brilliant minds, and then see how you can reconfigure or redesign the limitations of that world as informed by your own creativity-- that is, making my own super hero is seriously cool to me.

Experimenting with layering colour was really the focus of this piece, and it's not quite finished yet, but it's a long way from the traditional mediums I'm used to. I can't wait to see what else I can create through digital art, and how my art style will evolve as it grows through this particular medium and it's challenges.
